Thanks for all the hugs people have given me here. I for one appreciate online hugs, I think they are usually sent with caring thoughts. As we can’t see or hear each other here, and only have bald text ... sometimes a can soften things and show kindness, just my opinion.

Also human beings so frequently misunderstand each other..

I read a post about the “authentic self” just now. Has anyone else heard of this?

I haven't heard of it specifically, but I have heard something similar.

Something about having 3 faces. One you show to the public. One you show your family and friends. And one that you never show anyone. All 3 are you, but which do you feel is your true face?

About the hugs - I thoroughly agree. IRL (and unlike your average bear), I'm not a huge hugger (brought up not externalize emotion, I guess), but in this textual domain, a hug can carry care & compassion where words sometimes fail to. So..

None of us really knows what the other is going through. I always try and be supportive. Have a good weekend fuzzy and do something that really gives you pleasure. Even if it's only eating lots of easter eggs

I also feel online hugs express brotherly/sisterly love, acceptance and compassion.

I'm a hugger both online and in real life. When I give a hug either way, it is totally genuine. It means I care. When I receive a hug I take it the same way. Hugs for everyone.

I agree. Online hugs are quite comforting. I am thankful for them as well.
