Some people have said that my anger is part of my depression. They say anger is part of depression. So I'm angry because I'm depressed or maybe Im just angry. I don't know. I was depressed for a long time and then I got really angry and I mean depressed as in sad and then getting angry. I very rarely got sad when I started getting angry all the time but recently I have been feeling sad. So I thought I just stopped being depressed and started getting angry but then someone told me anger was part of depression. So yeah thats what they say and I'm really angry sometimes so I must be pretty depressed.

Depression is anger directed inward.

Disagree. Anger was not a part of my depression at all. I think people experience depression differently and for different reasons.

^^ I agree with TheSadGirl.
Sometimes, repressed anger can play a role in depression; yet, it's not always the case.

I hope you find a healthy outlet for your anger and feel better soon.

A lot of people's depression starts in childhood and anger might be a factor. Anger that you can't verbalize as a child being in an unhappy situation that you have no control over. Overt anger in adulthood can be a factor in many illnesses. It can even be the root of a larger condition.

I also do not believe depression is anger turned inward. You might want to read some articles about what causes depression in childhood.
