I have a friend I like very much we used to be work buddies but then she moved away but we’re still in contact

Lately I have been very depressed and she is the only person who said “you can call me anytime, you can talk about anything”

I talked to her a few days ago for over 30 mins, I felt so much better, I am very grateful. I talk to her once or twice every month

But I should find other distractions in between and not feel like a burden

I also want to tell her something positive some day and not just this

Can anyone give me some advice

She is a great friend to give you that offer.

One thing you can do is let her know you are there for her. Let her talk about her own life too. Give her time to talk out her problems or anything on her mind and just listen and reassure her. I find it difficult when I have so much on my mind, but the other person really appreciates a good listener.

She really is a great friend, and she keeps things a secret

She does talk to me, mostly about work problems and stuff. I’ve always told her she can talk to me about anything

She’s always cheerful and never shows any sign of being depressed. She’s very social though and has tons of friends

I'm really happy for you. Keep it up this way, it seems like it's going fine. I don't think once or twice a month is too much.

I hope so and that’s what I’m thinking
