Through my life, I have gotten nowhere, being kind and giving. There is only one thing left to do....be quiet and unseen. I can't be nasty, but I have to admit, being the opposite of kind and giving, has been awfully tempting. When you try to always do the right thing, and get crapped on, you really question the point of being nice.

Just because you are kind and giving, even quiet and solitary, does NOT mean you are irrelevant. I realize you did not say that, but it was implied.
The best heroes do not have songs written about them. You may not see the impact your life has on others, but do not for a second believe that you don't make a difference. Others may be making a lot of noise, but that's all it is.. noise. You may be quiet, but you have meaning. It is hard to remember, especially about ourselves, but you are important. If anyone is making you feel otherwise, you need to take back your power. People can only make you feel a certain way if you let them. You should stand proud (whether or not you can hear applause) in the knowledge that you are a good person. Fu** anyone who wants to down play your awesomeness or take advantage. Just because you are kind and giving, does NOT MEAN that anyone has the right to take you for granted. Treat yourself with the respect you deserve, do not stand for anything less, and others will follow your example.

Just remember to be kind and giving for the sake of being kind and giving, not because you expect the same in return or some other reward or acknowledgment. Life and people don't work that way.

I am only kind to help others. I don't want people to suffer like I have, if I can help it. I had just hoped that people would see me as a kind person. But, when I can't help or I am of no use, I'm immediately the a**h***.
