some of you will know that I was blamed for being “selfish” throughout most of my childhood (and beyond)

Is a 3 year old “selfish” ....

I was, apparently.

I’m trying my hardest to “move on”

One thing is for sure

Silence doesn’t help me to “move on”

Silence doesn’t even help me to “stay alive”

(Not about anyone on pc)

A parent or parents who "expect" their child to "parent" them might regard a three-year-old being a three-year-old as "selfish". ???

You need not be silent whether or not silence helps you "move on".

Depression is indeed, a selfish disorder, because it's only oneself who really gets to experience it's full awfulness all of the time.

And 3 year olds are almost by definition going to fit the selfish profile from time to time & any parent who doesn't recognise that and gently guide the child, is in need of some parental common sense...
