Hello all,

This is my first post on this forum, but I have been reading threads here for quite some time and think I need to try and participate. I have struggled with depression and anxiety issues since I was 18 (I am now 33). I seem to go through cycles where I have very few symptoms for months, but always seem to crash again into deep bouts of depression for months. This most recent "crash" began about 3 weeks ago. I live far from family and am have very few close friends in my current location. Work has been very stressful, and I also met someone romantically who I became very emotionally close to. Suffice it to say that she did not feel the same. Along with my already worsening mood, these two situational issues contributed to me leaving my job (temporarily) and flying cross-country to try to get things back together. Anyway, most of this is me just venting. My mood is very low right now and I would like to hear from others, as well as be there for people who may need some encouragement. This seems to be a good and safe place to talk and communicate about common depression issues. Thank you all!

-Ben

Welcome Besmith818. So glad you joined PC and I hope it is of benefit to you. There are lots of good people on here willing to share info and I'm sure you can share to help others. I too am far removed from family and my support channel. Just know that there are lots of people on here cheering for you to rise above.

Indeed, it is. I've used it a bit myself for tossing out things to vent about when I've got no one to talk to, and even though my threads have not gotten many replies I find it helps to just get the feels written out and put them out there. I hope you manage to find some help here too.

Welcome to PC. It's a good place, in my experience, to express things that real life people aren't willing to hear. You posted in my recent thread, thank you for being here. I'm here for you, too. PM me anytime.

Thank you. It helps me to try and help others...if only because I know how hard feeling hopeless and depressed is.

Much appreciated.

Hy,

Welcome am sure you will overcome the issue soon,There was a time when i felt sad, hopeless, frustrated, or worn out. I had negative feelings all the time. I did not eat for days and lost around 15kgs of weight in 50 days. Overcoming depression was really a very tough job for me. But my friends helped me a lot in this case and I started loving my life and gaining confidence day by day. I read many blogs on treatments and symptoms and within 4 months I was back to normal. This online information from Everydayhealth was really resourceful-
There are more natural way toovercomedepression,
1. Exercise, train your brain and train your body.
2. Eat healthy and eat at proper time
3. Be scheduled
4. Get good hours of sleep
5. Take challenges
6. Take responsibilities
7. Talk to your friends and family
8. Take part in adventures and daily day work
Do try and let me know if you have any others ways to overcome depression.
Thanks for this!
