Well, I've been stuck here for a while. I am trying to allow beautiful, warm, and gentle things into my life. I am trying to be less spartan, less minimal. I am trying to ask what I can learn from situations, instead of hiding.

Something in me is hurting me and I need to find a way to remove it. I'm trying to act with love. I haven't experienced love yet in my life. I have been alone and therefore don't know how to give, because I never had.

I want to believe I am beautiful, and take care of the beautiful things around me. I want to have compassion.

It hurts, but I shouldn't be afraid of the pain. It's ok.

Elmore James--It Hurts Me Too (can't post a link as it's my first post):

You said you hurtin', you almost lost your mind
The man you love he hurt you all the time
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurtin' me too

You love him more, when you should love him less
Why pick up behind him and take his mess
But when things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurtin' me too

He loves another woman, and I love you
But you love him and stick to him like glue
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurtin' me too

He'd better leave you, or you better put him down
Because I won't stand to see you pushed around
But when things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurtin' me, too

Welcome to PC! I hope you can find some assistance among us other broken folk.

I love your avatar, it's so calming. The fall colors... I love fall. I can't wait for it to come save us from summer.

Hello peppermint tea: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Thanks for sharing this poem. In reading it, it sounds as though relationships are of interest to you. There is a forum, here on PC, dedicated to the topic of relationships. Here's a link:

And then, since you posted this in the depression forum, I presume depression is perhaps something you struggle with. Consequently here are links to 4 articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on that subject the first by our host Dr. John Grohol, Psy.D.:

Living with Depression: A Guide for Coping with Depressive Feelings

In-Depth: Living with Depression

Top 10 Daily Habits To Keep Depression Away

9 Ways to Take Care of Yourself When You Have Depression

My best wishes to you...

Welcome Peppermint tea.

Have you tried grieving you're hurt? Love is always a good idea but it can get in the way of us letting some things pass.

Big hug
Take care
