“No confidence. Perceives as problem”

This is part of the notes written during a spectacularly unhelpful “consultation”

I didn’t say I had NO confidence. But if I had....how could that NOT be a “problem”

How could skin lesions on a pretty young bear NOT impact bear’s life.

Or skin lesions on anyone.

I guess I'm "F.I.N.E." too.

Little Turtle, if you manage to wean completely off the Celexa, would you then not be taking any psychotropics?

i have a mental illness...I have had a serious problem in my life..
I am ashamed...I lay the stigma on myself...others take me down...
but I take me down....it is changing...I hope for the better...

I am starting to speak up to my wife...she doesn't believe I have a MI..
with my wife I am no longer going to be ashamed or blamed or taken down..

It sounds to me like your wife may have a “diagnosis” - like my PUS ... all that blame and shame they try to put on us. Grrrrrrrr

Good for you! We can benefit from learning to be more assertive. Sometimes, at least in the beginning, changing a pattern of interaction can be scary and can generate more anxiety. However, it's usually worth it to change hurtful patterns of interactions with those closest to us.

It takes courage!

I hope you benefit greatly!

Dorothy Rowe is a very interesting psychologist...

and I just listened to the 19 min ted talk by Kristin Neff
on the space between self-esteem and self-compassion...
it was very good.....I have very low self esteem...I lost
my self-esteem in psychiatry....I was sick and so was psychiatry..

I need to be on the AS IS bus

I was sick and so was that therapist. And some “ignore” that issue.. how SICK that therapist was .. and psychiatry too

I need to be on the AS IS bus where people don’t blame others and ignore the

Truth

That therapist felt threatened when I mentioned Dorothy Rowe. She doesn’t believe in tossing out ugly, inaccurate, stigmatising labels

I can play that labelling game too

He is psychol. NPD ....

this morning with my wife....
I am paying attention to what she is saying about me...
I am paying attention to critical and blame comments...
I am trying to point these out without getting angry...
this is very hard for me...I am very angry at my wife...
not for what she is thinking but what she is saying...

It is very hard to remain calm to express ourselves when faced with people like your wife. Much respect to you Little Turtle.

I have also been listening to Dorothy Rowe. Thank you to those who have mentioned this lady. She talks of Hot and Cold Anger. This has left me to think quite hard about anger.

I have to admit to hot anger when triggered by abusive situations and people. I wish I had more control. My fight and flight responses seems to kick in, it seems. Anyone had any success catching themselves before talking or shouting with so much emotion?

Hot and cold anger, I hadn’t heard of that.. I haven’t read much Dorothy Rowe for a while.

I have difficulty sometimes with PTSD “fight” types / NPD who accuse others of all sorts of stuff that in fact belongs in the “family” of origin, and not in the “object” of their rage

Step maternal unit specialises in that. Eff her
