Me neither - but sometimes I think that's a symptom of depression. I don't dare to despise.

I try not to think about what I don't like about my appearance instead using the negative thoughts to motivate me to take care of my appearance. I do not spend that much time on grooming but hate going without a daily bath (my hair looks better washed), contacts, makeup, clothes I am comfortable in, etc. I spend a lot more time thinking about personal behaviors and thoughts I dislike. Beauty is as beauty does and many times our inner beauty (or lack of ) shines through from my POV. Love the Oscar Wilde book, The Picture of Dorian Gray.

I try really hard to go with love > hate, but there is one person I deeply despise. I won't name names, but I'll say that he has a very orange aura. I try not to feel this way, but it seems uncontrollable any more...

I understand. I could PM you a video with a different take on him if you're interested. Doesn't make his actions any less egregious (if we're thinking of the same person) but explains quite a lot from a different angle. It's presented by a doctor who I really appreciate.

I don’t despise anyone but I do deeply disrespect someone. I can’t name names as he’s so controversial and it would just lead to pointless discussions because everyone is so entrenched.

Yes, I understand you Jennifer and you SpeckofDust very well. I am an immigrant so you can imagine what it feels like every time I turn on the news for the last couple of years. They do say truth is stranger than fiction, don't they?!

Rollin' right along...next Q unrelated to prior comments All Qs are coming from a book I bought.

10. What is the quality you most like in a man?

Aw, do I have to pick just one??

Then I would say strength. Not the kind measured at a gym. Humor is a very, very close second.

I am a man. I have humour, but I am instable and weak. I talk too much, also. I am not the strong silent type. But I don't drink, nor smoke, nor abuse any other substance. I am proud. But I have a strong, almost pathetic willingness to cave in.

I like gentle men. I like soft spoken men. But also certain kinds of garrulous men. I like Bob Ross.

I actually used to kinda be able to tolerate him, but it was obvious to me from the start that he was a toxic person. I have read one of his books, and watched any read many forms of media about him. But, a huge mistake was made a few years ago, and it can't be undone.

Yes, and also, "Just because you can doesn't mean you should."

Agreed. I cried when that choice was made. It was shocking. I wasn't suggesting otherwise. I was sort of talking in code due to guidelines. I sent you a video if you are interested. It's not actually about tolerating him (nobody should) but just a psychological analysis of why he's so egregious. I love psychology. Feel free to disregard if you're not interested I enjoy sharing ideas but folks can take em or leave em.

Specifically related to men: Adorableness, which incorporates being handsome, witty, smart, and kind. If he likes pinball and MMRPG's, all the better! Just like my dad...

When it comes to a stranger walking down the street or one I am talking to on the phone when I used to work in a call center--"Machoness" that certain kind of male swagger that exudes from the way they stand, walk, and look at you when in person. On the phone, there is something about some men's voices that screams macho--these men are big flirts on the phone.

When it comes to the men in my life--humor. In second place comes tolerance. I would never be married as long as I have if my partner wasn't tolerant of my weaknesses.

I have it narrowed down to three: smart, kind and sense of humor. I’d have a hard time just picking one of the three.
