I have severe depression, anxiety and insomnia to the point that I'm unable to function need to be in some structured setting. To make matters much worse I don't have permanent housing (have been living in airbnbs and not really bound to any location) and don't have family or friends to help me out. The only resource I've are some savings. So, I've been looking for some place to live where there will be other people with mental illness, so I won't be so isolated. Pretty sure will not be able to sleep in a psychiatric hospital even if I can get admitted. The private clinics I found in US and Europe are insanely expensive. Are there any loopholes, such as buying private insurance to help pay for them? Are there any community type programs where people with mental illness can live for a while anywhere in the world? The only affordable place I found is in Thailand, but was told it will not work for me with my insomnia due to noise issues. Does anybody know of any other places like this?

I'm afraid I can't help you, @arthur12, especially since I don't live in the U.S. I hope someone else who is more knowledgeable than me will be able to help you out. Please hang in there. I hope what sarahsweets posted will be of some help to you. Keep us updated if you can and please stay safe. Sending many safe, warm hugs to you, arthur12!

@MickeyCheeky Actually, if something like what I'm looking exist it would probably be outside US as residential care is super expensive here and I don't have good insurance. I'm willing to travel anywhere. Are there any affordable residential clinics or community programs in Italy or other European countries that a non-resident could use?
