I became a hermit.
I always had that problem to feel good with people. Not really in a bad way, was the way i am. I never had problem saying it, always felt comfortable, and ok. I used to go out and do things, but always dealt about finding people i like to be around, even going out with other people, have nights, and everything, something didnt fulfull me. Time ago i was bad, due problems of life, just having 1 close friends (and other good friends, good people, great people, but just my way to dont be so close to them), and I was really needing to go out, and talk, talk with someone, this friend was with his own things, and i was just too tired to beg him to find a time for me, and i was too out of my mind, i cut relation with this friend, because it was like have a ghost, someone who is there but not at the same, whats the point to have that friend, we live close, but well, i was just too tired to dont have any other to talk. Anyway. I became a hermit. Other people, I just dont care about them, and when you became like this, normal talks, are just bad, im just too off from reality. Just saying this to see if theres other people like this on the forum. Not people with "anxiety problems", or "insecure", just... hermits. |

If you have depression, that alone often causes us to isolate. It’s very common. Dont blame yourself for this. I was always introverted and usually had one best friend, that is about all I can handle. You need to keep trying. You can find a friend. It can just take a long time sometimes to find the right person. Usually its not good for those of us with depression to isolate ourselves, it depends on the person. After I was diagnosed I realized that one of the reasons I kept to myself(tho I was usually studying hard or working hard at a job) was to protect myself from the upset that mixing with the wrong person can cause. Especially in high school and sometimes even later, we think we are supposed to be popular and have all these friends. Social media like Facebook perpetuates that myth. Do whatever is right for you. Sometimes special interest groups(see meetups online) or support groups are a good way to find that special friend. I sure know how you feel. Hugs!

I keep waiting to totally flip out since people tell me I'm so abnormal, but so far have remained relatively sane except for being singled out as "different." Best to you... ![]() |
