I'm new here and I am down. The holidays depress me. I don't know how to describe it but I just get down around the holidays and considering I dont' have support from my family or friends I've joined here.

maybe you could do something that you know will be good for you around this time. if you have some extra money, buy yourself something you've been really wanting.. if money is limited maybe you could just take a nice bath or read a book you love or something else that will make you happier on your own.

maymie, welcome. This time of year is hard for a lot of people. I think you've taken a big step by coming here. I know it helps me a great deal just to hear that other people understand and can relate.

You aren't alone in the holiday thing, and this is an easy place to talk about things that wouldn't be understood elsewhere. It helps that no one here really knows you, so you don't have to worry about your feelings, fears, and secrets coming back to haunt you like you would with someone you have to deal with on a regular basis. This forum is what's gotten me through the holidays this year.

Welcome maymie. I hope you find the support you are looking for here. The holidays are hard for many people and I think you will find that many understand what you are going through. I hope posting helps.
