I'm honestly not sure. I've read about depression, about not wanting to do anything or go anywhere or see other people, but I've never experienced it myself for more than a day or part of a day.
But now I've felt that way for a few weeks. I don't want to do even the one thing I am able to do that I used to enjoy -- playing my guitar -- because there's no reason to do anything. I get so bored I sleep a lot -- which makes my cat happy because she loves to sleep with me! -- but I really can't be bothered to get up and go out and do anything. It's like my whole life has been reduced to this one room -- at least the cat enjoys looking out the window from her perch on the sill. I can't be bothered, except to notice the sunsets (windows face due west). The cat is the only creature who cares about me, and she is happy to catnap here with me, so ... |

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not a mental health professional. But this certainly sounds like depression to me. I do think depression can sometimes be cyclical. And it's possible, I suppose, you'll find your own way out of the current level of depression you're in especially since, it sounds like, what you're experiencing now is new to you. If not, though, you may want to consider seeking some professional mental health treatment... assuming you're not already getting it. I'm glad you at least have your kitty...

How is your appetite? Does your stomach rumble but your head tells you not to eat?

Sometimes, I think. I mean, sometimes I feel physically hungry but nothing appeals to my appetite. That is really out of the ordinary for me -- I've always had too good an appetite!
