Real question, not rhetorical: If a person truly "abandons" him- or herself, does that person continue to feel pain?

![]() So, if a person truly "abandons" her or himself, does that person continue to feel pain? I would have to say, at least in my case, yes one does. One may no longer put forth any effort to heal... to be different than one is. But the pain is still there nonetheless. I would liken it to chronic physical pain. One may give up on seeking a cure for the pain. But the pain is still there. It doesn't go away simply because one has given up trying to find a cure. At least those are my thoughts on the subject. Thanks for raising the question! ![]()
