I feel very sad this evening. I did work around the house and that just wore me out. I'm not happy for my accomplishments. I was working on a music class, but now that is depressing me. I can't even bring myself to finish reading my vampire book. I'm on the last few chapters. I quit watching the news. It's just too depressing. Music makes me feel sad. All I can tolerate is nature sounds. Even my cats seem depressed. I've been sleeping off and on all day. My little cat sleeps with me. I'm not sure what I can do. My Effexor dose is low. I could go up some. But I'm afraid it will make me numb and ruin the joy I do feel on occasion. Can anyone relate? How do you get out of a funk?

I wish I had any answers for you. I've been in a funk for more than 10 years now. I'm also in a state where any activity takes more effort than I can muster, so all I can do is go to work and come home, other than work on writing. When all you can do is go to work and go home, time can pretty quickly add up, and suddenly years are passing you by. All the other people in my family in my generation have been getting married, having kids, etc., and I'm still just here, barely hanging on. I've been reading recently a lot on personal autonomy and it seems like a lot of people, myself included, want more autonomy in their lives.

I can definitely relate to you. I understand how you feel. I been feeling really depressed and down myself. The news is just too sad to watch. I rarely feel good when I do go out if I go out at all.

I can relate. It’s miserable. I wanted to offer my support. You could always talk to your pdoc about going up on Effexor to see if that gives you some relief. If it stunts your joy, you could back off. Maybe there is a happy medium. I hope you feel better soon. Sending good thoughts, supportive vibes and gentle hugs.

Deilla, do you think is it possible an effect of Spring? I tell you because I found myself in the same situation some weeks ago and I’m taking a supplement who is sold here in pharmacies and I’m feeling with more energy for the last two weeks.
Consider if it’s only an isolated day or it’s taking a time for you lately.

Thank you, everyone! This afternoon I'm doing better. I finished reading my vampire novel. Reading that and relaxing put me in a good mood. It's sunny today and a nice temperature. And my cat was with me while I read. That always puts me in a happy mood. I hope all of you are doing well.

Good to hear you got out of it. I get in these low moods too. I just try to get through the day the best I can. The next day I often feel just a bit different and I can do things I didn’t want to do the day before.

Thanks! I'm still doing well a couple of days later. I've just been resting and doing very few chores.
