I’m so lonely and depressed tonight I can’t stand it. I tried reaching out to a friend, and mentioned feeling down. Her advice was to watch a movie. I’m beyond that. My therapist wants me to do an iop program and go out of work on disability but I’m afraid of losing my job.

I'm sorry things are so rough right now. I don't know what kind of work you do but I'm pretty sure as long as you are in the US you can fill out FMLA paperwork and it secures your job. Ask your T about FMLA and see if they can help you with that.

Here at my work I pay for short term disability insurance and I've had to take "stress leave" twice. Three weeks once and two weeks once and they groused a bit because my shift is hard to fill but they were pretty good about it. The bad thing about FMLA is it's unpaid but most places will let you take vacation/sick time if you have it accrued.

I hope things get better for you soon

I am out on disability right now and this is the second time I've had to do so. I wish I had done it sooner, that's all I can tell you. Raindrop Vampire is right, talk to your T about FMLA. You are important and you need to take care of you.

I lost my job, a while back, because my work suffered due to my illness and I DIDN'T take sick leave.

So sorry you are feeling alone and down. Finding a way to reset or 'get away' may help you restart. I am taking a week off of work soon....to get away and reset. I hope it will help me change my perspective and feel less depressed.

I also have to remind myself it is ok for today to not be ok. There is hope in tomorrow.
