I'm stupid.
I went into work even though family member has symptoms of covid. I get easily confused by rules, even obvious ones. I blurted to colleague that sister was waiting for test result. They told boss who told me to go home. I think my colleagues are unhappy with me. I'm very sorry. My sister had health anxiety and goes for lots of tests. I'm not sure she needed a test. I'm sorry for being stupid. I don't hurt people deliberately Edit, it's obvious when I was reminded of rules that I should isolate but information doesn't seem to sink in . I don't know what is wrong with me |

Dear BBB2,
Please do not be hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. I've made some big ones in my life. Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20. We all do things that, later on, we can see didn't make sense. That doesn't make one stupid. And, although I don't know you, I doubt you're stupid. It does sound, though, like you perhaps have some self-esteem issues. Is it possible you might have ADHD or have you been diagnosed with it? Inattentiveness is, as I understand it, a symptom of ADHD.
I'm sorry you feel so down on yourself. Perhaps if you're seeing a mental health professional of some sort (a psychologist or mental health therapist) this might be something to delve into with them? Under any circumstances, I hope you will be able to find a way to not feel you are stupid & need to apologize for yourself. Best wishes... ![]() |

Thank you both.
I have wondered about adhd, but don't really have symptoms apart from making dumb decisions sometimes that are obvious in hindsight |
