is it that people wish you a merry christmas or a happy holiday

for me it's super important. if you're someone who I talk to often, and someone who cares about me, then you can wish me a merry christmas- it's strange, because I hate people wishing me happy birthday (makes me get frustrated), but merry christmas seems essential to me

Merry Christmas RV! Do the birthday wishes make you feel self conscious because it is about you, while the Christmas wishes are you being part of something else that’s about everybody (and about Jesus, oc)?

Christmas 🎄 is important for good wishing and good tidings but I don’t think it is a “need to go out of your way to call someone” holiday. I do like to connect with those I may not normally find time to talk with.

The break from school and work is important to me and gives people the opportunity to see family too. A good time to be in good spirits with lots of time for rest and nourishment.

I agree birthday wishes can be a little more personal and intent-full. Wishing someone happy holidays is like wishing them good fortune for the new year no matter what their religious practices are and also makes for good conversation when we are feeling merry.

Belated Merry Christmas To You! Personally i appreciate that people i know and care about remember to wish me a Merry Christmas or any other Holydays. With that said, if someone forgets for whatever reason, i'd say it is no big deal as it can happen sometimes and it has happened to me as well.
