i am trying to remain in the present...
the past hurts and the future hurts are important but i need to keep my attention on the present... that is what my teachers are telling me... and i need to pay attention to how i am hurting myself... |

Of Possible Interest:
Yesterday I listened to a podcast featuring a couple of former police officers. They told lots of stories, and at one point they talked about mental illness. Neither officer suffered from a mental illness, but they spoke about people they dealt with, about fellow officers, and about others they knew who did have various mental illnesses. What caught my attention was their agreement, on the basis of their (non-medical) observations and experiences, how ineffective psych meds seemed to be in resolving mental illness. It was interesting to get that perspective from an unusual source. __________________ My dog mastered the "fetch" command. He would communicate he wanted something, and I would fetch it.
