i am having an AS IS problem...
i am having trouble ...i don't like what happened to me...
three breakdowns....mental illness.????...it really screwed up my life...
i am trying to make peace with it...i haven't been able to lay it to rest...
i guess i haven't accepted what IS...my friends in real life would say take a psych drug...

Little Turtle -- and feel free to ignore the question, at the time of the "breakdowns" did you have any purely medical work done to determine if some physical, endocrine, nutrient/mineral deficiency had anything to do with your internal situation?

Personal Aside: My pdoc has had me off all antidepressant medications for a few months now due to their minimal effects and worrying side effects. I am still regularly taking an antianxiety medication.

I have also experienced worrying side effects to multiple psych meds. I believe that a good pdoc would want to investigate this further rather than simply prescribing yet another psych med which could actually be dangerous with no investigation or even support. I am also still regularly taking an anti anxiety medication.

Some of my friends irl would also say take a psych drug. Not all of them know about my history of severe allergic reactions to multiple psych drugs (or maybe they don't remember). Some of them have seen the severe allergic reaction too. More than one specialist irl has commented on the severity of my allergic reaction but as it is (apparently) not life threatening they are not very interested.

Psych drug's make me ill.

I would say we are experiencing normal human states however unpleasant they are.
Patience and kindness are a better remedy.

I don't want to intrude, is this bus open? I'd love a seat. Psych drugs are a sensitive topic for me. I was medicated young. I found anti anxiety and depression meds from my mother. I then seeked the antianxiety med. I finally got it around 30 years old. I'm now into my mid 50's (around there) and if I don't take my dose I feel absolutely anxious and sick. They don't even calm me, it's more like my brain is used to it and I'm taking it because I HAVE to and also now with the other meds. I'm not at all against meds.

I think they are helpful in many situations. My depression since a young age has never been cured. But I go off and back on antidepressant and mood stabilizer. I can't say it's been any miracle cure but without it I'd be so much worse.

Little turtle, have you found relief with any medication? It seems you are hesitant. It would be great to feel better then struggle. Just wondering..... you need to realize no one is perfect. Whatever faults you feel you have made are dead and gone. Guilt is tought *I don't know if that's what you feel* but I do.

Hi little turtle..... I read this and went YES!! I do the same thing. I'll drive where there is little traffic and just yell and vent and pray. It's a way to let all the stuffed feelings out as I'm sure you know, but this to me is a genius way to get every frustration out. I sometimes punch a pillow. Stuffing feelings in get's us nowhere but letting it out sometimes helps.

THe breathing technique thirty shades mentioned is a wonderful reminder to take a pause and breathe. I'll remember this advice and work, thank you kind people for being here
