Does anyone else cry at random? I don't know why this keeps happening.

Before I started medication for depression and anxiety, I cried at random frequently. I would often wake up and cry, hide in the bathroom during the day, or cry before bed. There's a very nice liturgy for this actually that in a world so broken, why wouldn't we cry for seemingly no reason... There is so much to mourn

Yep, it was one of my biggest depression symptoms. Now that I'm on meds that help somewhat, it's not as bad, but I'll cry for the littlest random reason sometimes. Generally, my depression gets worse with PMS, so it happens a lot to me then (I know that can be normal for any woman, but it never affected me before I was diagnosed, so I attribute it to that), but it will also happen if I feel more depressed from stress or whatever else.

The best thing to do is to talk to someone about it or self-soothing activities like listening to music, reading, taking a bath, etc. You can google lists of a lot of ideas.

Hope you can figure it out and start to feel better. I know how much it sucks.

I am medicated, but still tears come out when I think of my kids who I cannot see, and I overthink too much about how all went so wrong so quickly for me. I don’t feel like I’m crying heavily just two drops fall on my cheek and I notice. Hope is not another eye sickness.

I rarely cry, but have done at random in the past, well, when my thoughts were very emotional (I’m talking good as well as bad, but I never expected the tears either way).
