I'm physically weak. I gotta get tested for anemia. I probably need some I/V iron.

I hired someone to help me do housework today. She got a lot done. Mostly I sat and sorted thru piles of old paperwork. I'll definitely have her come back. First I got to find out why I get light-headed every time I go from sitting to standing. I'm really not depressed today. Just so tired.

I've been sleeping well. I'm not depressed. When I get up and just walk across a room, I can feel my heart beating hard, but there's no chest pain. I see a doctor on Tues. I'm hungry, but cooking seems too hard. Easier to just go pick up something. Driving is not hard because I'm sitting.

I'm in the Urgent Care Clinic at the hospital. I can't walk more than a few yards. They're sending me to the ER next door. I was admitted to this hospital 3 times in the past 12 months. I'm sick of being unwell, but I do need to be here. I'm guessing this is severe anemia. I kind of hope it's that because anemia can be fixed. They will also assess my heart. I've never been diagnosed with heart disease. I'm not depressed, so that's good.

An interesting morning this morning. Around 6 AM my belly hurt. I was concerned and scared about it. It went away after a half hour. I got in my car this morning and discovered that someone had gotten in to my car overnight. No damage and nothing stolen but some little things I had inside were thrown around. I guess I might have forgotten to lock the doors yesterday. It seems like that happens when I forget to lock the doors.

Thank you, @CANDC - I'm getting good care. They're about to give me a transfusion of red blood cells. The problem is anemia. That's fixable, so I'm relieved.

Went to the dentist this morning for a check up. I have a cavity that's inside of a crown that I had. I've noticed that there are some pain in that area. I'm not happy that it has to be done, but I feel that a problem can be solved. It's going to be somewhat costly to do. It's been fairly rough being retired with not much money coming in and more going out.

Very depressed. Blood transfusions at hospital helped, but still weak. After being there for 24 hrs, I hated the hospital. All night in the ER I listen to 2 mentally disturbed patients screaming. They wanted to admit me, but I left AMA. Beds are strewed in the hallways.

I'm going to try and submit to agencies that have previously rejected me. Some agencies say that if one of their agents passes on your work you're free to submit to one of the others, and it's those agencies I'll target. I've decided that if I can't get an agent by the end of the year, I'll ditch agencies and try submitting to publishers directly. Big publishers don't take submissions directly from authors, but smaller publishers do. That may wind up being a more viable path forward.

Is there some way to "self publish" nowadays, such as on Amazon? I thought there was a trend to skip the middleman and get your work out to readers directly. Then again, maybe it's tough without some backing.

It's a tough business, as with acting, sports, etc. Superstars enjoy riches, but breaking into the field is tough (and luck seems crucial). Nonetheless, all those superstars also started somewhere. It pays not to be discouraged and just keep at it...
