Really have zero interest, ability, or motivation to complete much needed tasks.
Laundry
Vacuum
Pay bills
Cat litter
Shower
Eat
Mammogram
Dentist
Talk on the phone

I am struggling to get my brain to achieve these things

I've been where you are. It's so hard...

Make sure you brush/floss your teeth and go to the dentist, though. Very important!!

Major depression can affect the most basic of self-care, but not brushing your teeth can lead to periodontal/gum disease that is a progressive condition and you can lose teeth.

For the rest, do you have a friend(s) who can come over and help you clean, etc?

Also, I find opening the blinds, putting on the lights and blasting rock music helps my mood so I can do some of these types of tasks.

Hang-in there.

I feel you. I'm in the same situation. Maybe we can encourage each other.

I would like to add that I take 025 estradiol patch and 100mg progesterone (this I take 2-3x a week due to it making me feel depressed and lethargic)

I live alone, work part-time and come home and lay down. Weekend is spent in bed. I am so lethargic and lost my appetite. Usually I eat when I'm depressed.

If I go to the Dr they do a million tests and end up saying I'm fine.

I do have fibromyalgia. Whatever that is, maybe it's that .

((((DeeeSchmeee68))))

Have you made any dietary changes that can help you?

Joan Borysenko has a book for plant based diet which is quite good.

I've done the Edgar Cayce (pr. Cay-cee) three-day apple detox... but check with the healthcare provider to ensure it's safe for you. I found it cleared my brain fog, hives (severe urticaria), and reduced inflammation. Maybe it would help you??

You're not alone. I have been having trouble keeping up with my housework. My place is a mess. I'm not good at taking care of myself either. One good thing is I do shower every day. I try to do one thing at a time. I otherwise get overwhelmed. I do my best, that's all I can do. Just know you're not alone.

That does help knowing that.
Also, I watched tiktok where this woman showed her cluttered "lived-in" house.

I feel the same. Lack of motivation is a constant struggle for me. I need the motivation to go to the gym which has been lacking for the last month.
