I posted twice about my experiences evacuating New Orleans in the wake of Ivan, including having to sleep in a shelter after 24 hours in my car, 23 of them driving without anyone to spell me. Were these posts considered inappropriate for some reason? If so, it would be helpful to be told why they were considered not appropriate for the forum. Thank you.

Are you sure you checked the site (search) to find them, perhaps you posted them in a different forum than you're looking? Usually if a post is pulled, a msg is left by the moderator... but it doesn't sound like they were offensive to me.

I'm interested in your experience... hope you find the posts...

As far as I know, these posts were not removed. A lot of times, especially after I compose a long post, after I "preview" it I end up hitting "main index" at the top of the screen, instead of the "OK, Submit" button, without even realizing it. It is only later when I discover my post is not there that I realize the mistake I've made.

Could that have happened in your case? If not please let us know in case there is some problem with the forum software. I do doubt that though because I think it would have been noticed by now.

When I compose a long post I try to copy and paste it into a Word or Notepad document before submitting it, in case something goes flooey when I hit submit. I've spent too much time staring at my monitor CURSING LOUDLY for loosing a long "well written" post... it only has to happen one or two times before I feel really burned for not saving independantly Where are my posts?

Let us know if this problem continues... I think we are all anxious to hear about your trip.

If by default you are previewing your post, you may be forgetting to actually submit your post after previewing.

You can choose whether to auto-enable previewing of posts or not by editing your profile.

Sorry about the confusion....

Oh, I'm pretty sure it was Operator Error. First time, I was in a motel room with iffy wifi. Second time -- well, who knows what I did wrong. But the posts usually make, so I figured I'd ask. I wrote a little story about the evacuation, which was enormous. The media definitely missed the boat on that story! All of them putting themselves in harm's way, standing in the wind and rain -- when there were a million evacuees in gridlock on the roads. Not a motel room from Baton Rouge to San Antonio. Maybe I'll post the story in the Creative Section.

Thanks for the responses.
