how to pass the time??? can't get off the sofa, no plans, no people to talk to, racing thoughts about every interaction and my total inadequacy with life, not wanting sympathy, just peace, can't stand wasting every day and being a burden to everyone because everything I do or touch is incorrect or broken - I must keep myself very alone, but how to pass time?

I recommend a creative hobby. Writing, drawing, whatever. Just something to focus on. The feeling of accomplishment can really help your mood too.

foreverlost, I understand what it is like to get stuck on the sofa. I know it sounds difficult, but finding things to do helps keep my mind from racing. I like to paint and write. Are there things you can do to break the cycle you are in? I know a hobby is not going to fix your depression, but it can help get you out of the rut you are in. It might take your mind off some of your worries--give you a much needed break. I have found that sitting around dwelling on my depression just makes it worse. Hang in there...

" a burden to everyone because everything I do or touch is incorrect or broken - I must keep myself very alone, "
Nobody is perfect. We all do incorrect things sometime and we all broke things. To make mistakes is the way to learn and grow and if people judge you for that, they are the ones who are incorrect. Not you. Any kind of hobbie is a nice way to keep the mind occupied. Also since you have the internet you could interact with people in different games or whatever, without putting yourself on the spot. If you like computer you could also make yourself a personal webpage. Take care of YOU because you are very important. |

Thank you all for your support. I think about a garden, but it seems like so much work...and all I do is think about it.. I can't even focus enough to watch a movie, much less read a book. This is killing me.
I'm not at all new to depression but very new to talking about it, and not very successful at that. My poor T doesn't know what to do. So bear with me? |

foreverlost, hang in there...we are here with you.
Oh, if actually doing a garden sounds too overwhelming, just design one. Get some paper and draw out detailed plans of the perfect garden. What you would put in it, where you would build it, why...it would be an interesting project and who knows, maybe someday you will feel up to actually planting it. __________________ You don't have to fly straight... ![]() ...just keep it between the lines!
