Hi, welcome to PC.

Unfortunately for a lot of us, dealing with depression will sometimes mean thoughts that we can't control... like suicidal ones.

Do you have anyone to talk to about this? Like a therapist, or a counsellor? Or perhaps whomever diagnosed you with OCD?

I have thought about suicide and attempted it in the past. New feelings and thoughts are coming up now. It's scarey and so hard to feel this way. Maybe we can hang in together. There's a purpose to all our lives! What helps you cope? What kinds of things do you like doing that could help make you feel better about yourself now?

(((((Messyocdgirl))))) suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you’re feeling that depressed or think you’re headed in that direction please see a doctor. There are meds out there to help you deal with the depression you’re feeling. Things CAN and DO get better, just because you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t mean it’s not there!

Welcome to the group, I too have those feeling, but going to counseling, being on meds and going to a partical hsp program helped alot. But the one think the grp and counselor pushes is drink lots of water and exercise, which will help distract us from those thoughts.
Give yourself credit and just coming here and I hope you can find help and relief soon.

I think about suicide at times, I don't as much as I used to. I talk to my T my friend they help me alot. Do you have a T or counsellor or someone you can talk to? writing, reading, and playing the piano helps me too. Maybe you have a hobby or something fun that can help you. I wish you luck in finding help.

I've actualy had suicidal thoughts, since I was probably well.... a child, now that I think about it. I have no intent of ever commiting suicide, and I don't really know how to deal with the thoughts. They usualy just come in episodes that are really sort-of rare. (thankfuly)

Suicidal thoughts are very serious, and if you have them, you really do need to be in therapy suicide
When those thoughts come upon you, tell yourself "Not now." It can be nearly impossible to put away the thoughts forever, as something you won't think about doing, but you can delay yourself with the, "Not now." Many people think they need that way out of life, as an option for if or when things get "really bad." You don't really, you can live, but it doesn't feel that way to you at the time.

When those times come tell yourself, "Not now." You can always keep it as an option, just not for now.

I think about it every day....night time is the worst for me...last night was bad.... I spiral at night into despair and I have a difficult time sleeping, mind racing, the whole nine yards... I'm in therapy and I talk about it weekly.... In the day time I call people and talk to them about anything to get my mind off of it....

change your thinking.

it is not an option.

plain and simple.

replace that thinking with something you need to do to take better care of yourself.

everything is possible.

think good things. help somebody in real life. improve your situation.

don't waste your life. put it to GOOD use.

peace and love,
night

I think about suicide a lot.

But to help get all that off your mind finding constructive things to do can really make all the difference. I listen to certain music, watch a certain movie, do some photography, read and write.
Hang in there!

I try to focus on my dreams.

If suicide is the loss of hope, then giving myself a reason to hope has to be the solution.

I also try to remember all the times that I felt like I was in total despair and how I managed to get through it. Reminding myself that 'this too shall pass' is sometimes enough.

Please seek out help if you have suicidal thoughts. My general feeling and what I always tell myself is that I'm a node in a massive network and if I was to take such an action the ripple effect would be huge. I can't let my family, friends, loved ones, even the people I post to here feel deep pain from me taking an action that ultimately serves no positive purpose. Thinking this way means I feel a responsibility to live, not just live but to live for others.

I hope you don't mind me mentioning, but I've created a video about dealing with depression on my channel, Happy Facts Lifestyle. If you get a chance, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look, I really hope it helps people who are struggling.
