I was just trying to help clean the house and get rid of trash and condense cloths, most of which are too small for my parents but they insist on keeping them. I was just trying to help. You have to make a mess in order to clean and organize, but she just wanted me to put everything back, so I gave up and came here to type and get away from her.

Hi Ariesmars;
Sorry about what happened with your parents, when you get older you want to hold on to the past, so trashing items is very hard for them. It's all memories they have and keeps them young at heart, so don't take it personally, that's just how we get when we get older. You did the right thing by coming here and talking. Keep strong and just do it a little at a time, maybe then they won't notice it as bad.

it was not that i wanted to get rid of their cloths, but she has lots of unused hangers just hanging there taking up half the space. but she had dry cleaner cloth bag on a hanger and it was empty and I want to throught that out, but she said I put my suit jacket in it. It is stored somewhere but not in the bag. why keep the bag? the house is just so cluttered with thngs and my parents just move it to an area that they don't use.

Hi,
I think you just have to understand that they are getting older. Yeah maybe you can move out but I hope you won't get a hard feelings on them.
