Hi I'm new and looking to talk with others suffering from SAD. I've recently bought a light box which is helping but some days really struggling - particularly with my job. My counsellor wants me to try anti depressants but I'm not sure? I'm trying to get through it by exercising and using light box - any thoughts?

Try posting to Larry Hoover on the drug site. I think there is benefit from also taking vitamin d. He knows more. Look back at old threads from him as he understands a lot about the drugs and supplements that help. This is funny but a friend of mine tans regularly and it helps her mood during these dark months? I think it's fascinating.

Hello, I'm a SAD sufferer and do use a lightbox as well, it definatly helps, even if you sit by a window on a sunny day makes a world of difference as well.

I've been suffering from it for over 8 years now.
I'm also on meds and have been for that same amount of time, anti-depressants do help, it's just finding the right one can sometimes be difficult.
