Sometimes I wonder if the world would be a better place without me? Are there certain people the world would really be better off without? How do you measure something like that? Would things be better if Hitler were never born?
I know all we can do is our best and try to contribute... and I suppose perception is everything... but I'm perceiving a lot of uselessness on my behalf. T_T Not suicidal... I guess I just want to feel like I'm worth something to this world... |

Of COURSE you are worth something! Have you ever made someone smile? Have you ever done a favour for another person? Have you participated in any kind of team activity/event? Do you care for any other people in your life? Have you helped an animal or the environment in any way, even if it just means picking up some litter you came across one day? If you have had any positive impact on anyone/anything -- no matter how big or small -- then you have value. Sometimes the impact we have on others is greater than we perceive, and we start thinking that we are "useless" or "worthless" because we haven't done something earth-shattering like get elected to parliament or broken a world record. But you never know ... that time you gave someone a friendly smile may not have meant much to you, but to them, your smile could have meant the world.

Quote:
Sometimes I worry that I make people unhappy because its hard for me to see the good. I usually feel like the bad parts of me outweighs the good. I know being down hurts the people around me, especially if my judgment isn't too good and I'm not thinking clearly. Sometimes I worry that my smiles are not enough. But I keep trying. Maybe that's enough? Thank you for reminding me that the little things count. ![]() |

This is true... I forgive the people I truly love when they've wronged me. And just seeing them smile is enough. But it also makes me sad when my loved one is unhappy. I should try to cheer up for them - for the ones who love me.
