Hello,
I've been diagnosed 6 months ago with Fibromyalgia and many years ago with major depression and anxiety. Just today, I've decided to get help from a firm in doing the forms for me for SSDI. They said I may have to go to a SS doctor. The Lyrica for fibro and Xanax and Cymbalta and Ambien for depression and anxiety have been working good. My questions are: 1.) If my pain from fibro was diagnosed before I took Lyrica and I go to a SS doctor for the pressure point test and I have no reaction to pain in the specific points - how do I substantiate my claim. should I not take any Lyrica for a few weeks before the appointment? I have an appointment with my rheumatologist this Friday. Is this they type of question that would be appropriate to ask her? 2.) I think both my Cymbalta @ 120 MG a day and my Lyrica @ 400 MG a day are too much and are giving me what I hear referred to as "brain fog"...but I feel better otherwise. If I ask my PDOC and my rheumatologist to lower my dose, does that mean I have less of a chronic disease in the eyes of SS? Thank you. |

John, it would be best to ask your docs these questions. I certainly would not make any changes to your meds without consult your docs first.

Thank you. But, of course I will discuss with PDOC...I was just asking about any first hand experiences anyone had.

I've not applied for SSDI, but, I have been informed that you will not receive it for the Fibro specifically. Being dx'ed with depression and anxiety would be what they are looking for mainly (as I've been told). I could be wrong.
We cannot suggest to you to stop taking anything your docs have prescribed for you.....they are the only ones who can answer your question. I wish you well in your quest! |
