Just wondering if there's anyone else out there who has a history of an eating disorder and has developed diabetes and/or gastroparesis after years of abusing your body. Or, If you just have diabetes and/or gastroparesis. I'm running out of treatment options and both are out of control.

I have similar issues caused from my anorexia...I have very irritac blood sugar levels, which the doctor has said I will end up with some form of diabetes and I also have Gastritis.

Im really sorry your running out of options...Do you have type 1 or 2 Diabetes, there are quite a few medications out there to control it.

Im sorry they are both so out of control.

Do you see a doctor at all?

While I haven't had the time to go to the doctor and get confirmation, I strongly suspect I have gastroparesis. However, in my case, it would be congenital.

yes, my best friend was anorexic for many years and now suffers from awful gastroparesis / IBS problems. she goes for counseling and now eats regularly and healthfully. but, she cannot seem to give up the cigarettes and coffee, which cause her terrible problems. however, she feels much better eating three meals a day. she has experimented with diets that eliminate gluten and another that eliminates acidic foods and focuses on alkaline ones. she has had some success with both. cutting down on stressful situations and events also helps her a lot. i hope this helps!

Right Now they are thinking that I have Type 1.5 or something. IDK. yes, I do see doctors. I have a regular PCP, Psychiatrist, Internal Med, GI, Endo, and am going to see a more specialized motility doctor at the univerisity hospital in July. I also see a psychologist/therapist for weekly counseling and a dietitian weekly. So, basically, my life revolves around appointments right now.

My 5 year old daughter ir type 1.Thats the most dangerous one.She is insulien dependend. She gets 3 times a day her shot. The only advice i can give u is two watch your carbohydrates intake.,eat low g.i.My daughter is constantly hungry,so i keep peanuts ,cucumbers, cocktail tomatoes,ic tea lite in the fridge and cupboard.Food that has less or no carbs.Oh i can talk for hours about it.When going too the shop i only look for food that has no or less carbs, for her too nibble on.

This is my personal advice for anyone with any type
IBS problems. the answer is Probiotics (the appropriate ones)
for your type of IBS issues. There are over 400 types of probiotics,
but the most common ones are out there in the market. Probiotics
are the friendly bacterias that naturallys exist in our Gastro Intestinal
tract (intesinal flora).I could go on and on but it would take pages and
pages of writing. The best thing, is for you to do the research,
and i can guarranty you that all your IBS problems will be over
within a couple of months after you start taking them,
and the cure is all natural. You will find all these
info. in the internet. If you have any questions, please let me know

Hi, I'm new to the forum and saw your post. I am Type 2 diabetic using insulin & oral meds, and have had gastroparesis, which is a subset of IBS, for many years. 2010 is the year of my relief for it! First I have a warning for you -- I was on Reglan for 2 years and am one of the people who wound up with Tardive Dyskinesia from it -- so be very careful and informed before you agree to use Reglan. I have found that first I had to find and stop using the meds that have constipation or diarrhea as a possible side effect, begin using Amitiza (it allows the stomach to move food through the intestines at a more normal rate), and have probiotic yoghurt every day. Within 2 weeks my system was functioning normally and I could go back to the meds I needed with no return symptoms. Two months later, all is still good. Mention this to your family doctor and see if they can help you identify a similar process. Good luck to you and blessings for recovery. P.S. I'm a piano player as well -- trying to learn the clavinova now.
