Has anybody had any luck in suing a former employer for limiting them to only two years of long term disability benefits just because their disability happened to be considered a "mental" as opposed to "physical" disability?

i am on LTD due to my bipolar disorder. i have been receiving it for over 10 years. you need to check out your insurance benefits to see how that segment/disability is defined for payout.

Check with the insuring company, not your employer. You had to sign for it so check the contract if you have a copy or ask your employer to provide a copy of the contract where it states the difference between physical and mental disability.
