And I am really scared. I never get scared with health, but this. This is a lot.
My blood work was a mess. My RA factor and inflammation factors were so high. There are issues with my kidneys. I am just at a loss for words. I have no friend support, and to be honest, I am just tired. I am tired of being the sick one. I want a break. That's all I want.

I know it is hard. But it seems like you have medical staff that has your back. It sure is no fun being ill. But it's not like it's a choice. I do wish we could just opt out of being ill.

I am glad and very privileged to have medical doctors who are really working to figure this all out. Thank you, medicaid. I wish we could opt out, too.
I am just actually scared for the first time in a long time.

I wish I could say something comforting, I guess I'm just not the comforting type. However I hope that things will be straightened out and that you will get the best treatment and that you will feel better.

My mom has Lupus and I have RA. She has had lupus for about 13 years now (she just turned 60) and I dont want to scare you but she does have it pretty bad. I will say this, even with the lupus she still lives a active life style.
Im 30 and I already have had 3 hip replacements, lower back is fused and the 2 disks above my fusion will need to be fused in the next year. Every day is a struggle, pain every day and night, i have sleepless nights because of muscle spasms. I have gone with out sleep for 72hrs. I dont know how old you are but I had my first joint replacement when I was 25, I was born in the country and raised to be a worker...thats all I know is how to work with my hands and I enjoy it very much. Now at age 30 I am being forced to give all of that up and pretty much start my life over (take a different career path) That is just a little bit of my backround story. I know the feeling you have..the not knowing, the "what ifs", what will your life be like? The very best advice I can give you is to accept what you have going on with your body. Accept the pain, people not understanding and that things in your life will change. You can not change what you have going on with your body...you can slow it down but not stop it. You can do 1 of 2 things. 1, you can worry and not live your life because your afraid or 2, be smart with the things you do in life and live your life. I rolled the dice and felt it would be best if I lived my life and do things while I still can and I am still young enough to do them...I didnt want to regret not doing things when im in my 60's-70's can now I really cant do them. I might sound very crazy but looking back, I wouldnt want my life to be different then it is now (as in not have RA or joint replacements). Its made me a much stronger person, I know I can handle any problem life throws at me and I have learned A LOT about myself over the years. Lupus and RA are horrible BUT they are not the end of the world. Do your best to stay strong and positive and do not let the lupus or ra control you! |

Thank you so much for all of that! Now seeing what you have gone through... this nearly feels like a walk in the park. I am adjusting to everything now better than I was a few weeks ago. I have a good doctor, and I will hopefully start treatment soon and begin changing some things to help me more.
Thank you again!
