I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. It should have gone here.
My friend has been suffering from this for months. Sometimes he's ok then bam! he gets a bout of aches, fever, chills & fatigue. He looks pretty bad sometimes. It took the doctor months to finally diagnose him with Diverticulitis. I don't see anything funny in that but maybe he does. I should add that my friend was not diagnosed properly for some time because he didn't want to see a doctor. He thought he was being punished by his higher power for doing something really bad to someone else. Basically, he felt he deserved the terrible symptoms. |

theres no known cure for it. and the longer it goes untreated the worse it can get. any damage thats already done, cant be undone. but they can stop any further damage to his gi tract. "its not curable, but it is treatable"
thats pretty much what my gi doc told me when i was diagnosed.... i had it since atleast toddler aged, but no one thought more of it being anything but anxiety up until i was about 24yr and my lower illeum (colon) swelled shut. then after days of being in the ICU/CDU they did many test, kept me from eating... and all that miserable things.. to a conclusion that it wasnt anxiety, although it would flare up in stressful moments. diet can help, and meds, but none of that is really a for sure thing. no diets work for me. and i cant take most of the meds they give for that (steriods). the doctor told me that if i knew something was wrong and they said it was nothing or mislabed it (like they did with anxiety my whole life) then it doesnt mean im lossing it, it just means that they havent done enough testing to find out the cause and source. (a chest xray and a cbc is what was done chronically when growing up and as a kid in the ER). ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
