Heh, I like that!

I've been having a bunch of weird symptoms, and my gastroenterologist ran tests for a bunch of other autoimmune disorders (I already have ulcerative colitis), including lupus and a lupus-like disease. When he told me the results were negative, I jokingly said, "Well, of course it's not lupus. Have you ever watched House? It's never lupus!"

I think humor is a really good tool in dealing with chronic illnesses. I make poop jokes and cripple jokes about myself all the time, and it really does make me feel a little better.

I tried to say that joke to my doctor but apparently she did not watch House so she had no idea what I was talking about and why I was saying that another doctor says it's never lupus. lol

Aww, that's a shame! My doc knew exactly what I was talking about when I made the House reference, which surprised me. He didn't seem like the type who'd watch it, but I guess I was wrong.
