Does anyone have arthritis in their feet/toes? I'm pretty sure I have it in mine. It's not disabling, just annoying mostly right now.

![]() I have arthritis in a lot of areas; not sure about the feet. I've had gout, but in my elbow, not foot. I've had other things wrong with my feet. If you continue having pain, please get it checked out. I hope you're feeling better soon. ![]() |

Thank you Jayne. I've had an MRI and I do have arthritis in my spine and all other joints, so I assume that's what I have in my feet too. As long as it doesn't keep me from walking I can deal with it. Getting old is fun.

I have advanced arthritis at the base of one toe, just like the x-ray shows in post # 5 above. It can be disabling at times. Surgery that I had on it didn't help much, but going to a pedorthist recommended by the podiatrist did. Now I always wear Brook's athletic or walking shoes with Birkenstock orthotic inserts added. This footgear greatly improved the quality of my life.
I would strongly recommend that anyone with foot pain see a good podiatrist. It gets worse as time goes on. I spend $150 to $200 for a pair of shoes and $50 to $60 for the orthotic inserts. They are worth every penny. This condition is called hallux limitus or hallux rigidus. (It is sometimes mistakenly called a "bunion deformity," but it is not a true bunion.) |

I'm getting my hands and spine xrayed this week. I just got diagnosed with extreme carpal tunnel so I'm looking at everything for ideas/cause. I have known arthritis in both shoulders and both knees (take mobic for the knees which helps enormously).

I googled it. It looks similar to say Celebrex which I used for awhile. I stopped using Celebrex because I wanted to use Ibuprofen for my teeth, etc.

It's been about six months now, but I think I have it in my hands and starting to feel it in one knee. I'm 42, and wondering what I didn't do/eat/take that brought this on, at my age! Both of my parents suffer with it, but didn't get it until their sixties.
I haven't done research, because the net overwhelms me with its contradictory info, and I haven't been to the dr, because I don't want medicine! (I already take thyroid meds.) I suppose that's inevitable, though. I'll have to deal with it, but at the moment it's too depressing to do anything about. |
