Three years ago I was diagnosed with auto-immune Rheumatoid Disease and Hashimoto Disease. At my last Rheumatologist appt., my doctor looked at my labs and xrays then told me that I could also have Lupus! I had new labs taken this past Monday, now I am waiting for the results. I am sure that all the stress, trauma, and abuse throughout my life are what caused my immune system to malfunction! You would think someone could find a cure for auto-immune diseases!

Oh no, that is a disheartening finding by your doctor. Have you discussed with them anything that might boost your immune system?

There are articles on self help for immune system here

Im very sorry to hear that. I've had Hashimotos for a few years and also have multiple food intolerances and chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) aka hives. I am on steroids and have gained weight and am miserable most days. I am being evaluated for lupus myself. It sounds like an awful disease and I am sure you are very upset. Just try to take one day at a time. Hugs!

I'm also severely autoimmune. I am convinced that stress and abuse had something go do with it, but this link has not been researched / acknowledged by the professionals, afaik.

I have lupus among other things and it's not the end of the world but it can be a pain in the butt. If you have questions hopefully I can answer them for you. Lupus has hit just about every organ I have. I have also had it for 20 years

Aloha CnewMe,

I too have Hashi's. I had all the symptoms of Lupus (except the rash) a couple years ago. I also had the symptoms of Sjogren's, Lupus Anti-coagulant AND Anti-phospholipid Syndrome... after a gazillion tests all showed negative. What I've discovered after years of research is that those of us with an auto-immune disease, on the average, have a total of three auto-immune disorders.

Mine seem to come and go and vary in severity. One common disease with Hashi's is Celiac. I really wish the GI Doc's would have listened to me sooner as my Celiac is very advanced and will never heal which causes constant malnutrition and increases my depression.

Take care and try not to worry- I DO believe that anxiety & depression CAN exacerbate auto-immune disorders. I read a study on depression last week that did show a correlation.

Hashi does not wanna walk alone. I have it with lupus. Someone I know is now suspected celiac with her hashi.

Goes for a lot of autoimmunity, my friend had one which every doc treated as a limited thing, I said I don't believe you only have that, 10 years later I was proven right and she had this other AI all those years.

I would suspect that maybe the Lupus has been the underlying cause of your other two "diagnoses"... Having a term for what you experience in no way makes what you are suffering better nor worse... do your best
