I had surgery five years ago to address herniated disc in my neck. I had a double anterior fusion, basically a cut through the front of my throat to get to my herniated disc. I also have one bulging and one herniated disc in my lumbar spine that cause leg weakness as well as sciatic nerve pain. Along with my spine issues I have developed carpal tunnel in both hands and I have a chronic bladder issue from a bad surgery when I was younger call trigonitis cystitis that causes frequent pain and symptoms similar to a bad bladder infection. I take only Advil for pain and soak in a hot bath tub for relief........I will never understand why I am suffering from all of these conditions, I am 39 years old with two children........it is so difficult sometimes an I have very little support.

![]() It sucks that you don't have much support. What is a day in the life? What kind of problems does this cause during the day? Do you work? If you do have you thought of applying for disability?

It's very difficult having chronic health issues and you are still pretty young, although you can get them at any age. It does help to have some kind of support system for when you are struggling physically. There are online groups on facebook for chronic pain. I have chronic migraines, asthma and bipolar. I had a spinal fusion 3 years ago and will probably need it again for a herniated disc in my neck. It is really difficult when they all flare up at once.
