How are you going with drinking water Marilyn?
Sorry you are having a rough patch Gus. I tried to send you a photo but my comp doesn't like it. Hang in there.

Good going with the exercising Deejay.

It is very cold here today. Currently 37F. My hands are cold. My bsls go up and down. Can never understand why it is so different to the quarterly blood tests. Wondering if there will be a difference with the last one I had done. Don't want a stern talking to from my gp in August.
Yesterday my sister came around and we pruned and re-staked the roses and did three hours of general clean up in the garden. This morning my ribs hurt. Today my exercise will consist of vacuuming the floors and cleaning the blinds - not my favourite job but need to do it. I made some pumpkin soup for when my sister was here yesterday. Left overs today.

Thanks Gus and Deejay. Tomorrow is another day............. Need to visit Tara. My migraine has gone away. Today is the second day after gardening. My muscles are still letting me know I haven't used them for a while. I got up and could well have done nothing but I made myself move. I did some cleaning and had a shower. Today I was in the back yard picking up small stones. Pain in my gut was not nice so I ended up taking pain killers. Did grocery shopping and cooked meals. At the end of the day I got a bit of perspective thinking that I shouldn't have done so much. It's hard to know when I need to push myself or when I need to back off. Chocolate was not a good idea.

What beautiful Hollyhocks Gus. Love the color and my mum used to grow them in her garden when I was little. I don't have a separate kitchen so I do Do the dish every night. Pretty much the only thing I do each day without fail.

Still have a pain in my gut today. Felt a few bumps that have not been there before around my belly button this morning. I suspect a hernia. Never had one before. Hope I am being a drama queen and that when I see the doc this afternoon it will turn out to be nothing.

I thought chocolate for breakfast would make the pain go away. It didn't.

i sure hope you don't have hernias, possom... i have little bumps in places, i just think they are fatty deposits... diabetes comes with a host of lovely side effects ~

I do have succulents in my garden, many in pots. I do love the panda plants and others that look like they are ready to bite but I don't know their name. The succulents are toughing out in the cold and windy weather at the moment.

Went to the doctor today and had an ultrasound done after it. I was sent for the hernia and got a two for one deal. Not only do I have a hernia, confirmed but lots of gallstones. Who knew? Going back on Friday to see the doctor again and to work out who he is going to refer me to for the surgery. Hooray (not).

what a bummer, possom~! i hope you get a really good anesthesiologist~! (and no after-effects~!) is it an hiatial hernia ? i hope they do the laparoscopy (little cuts with long scizzors).

there is a medicinal tea you can get at the health food stores, i bet, called "Licorice Root Tea", that dissolves gall stones,,, much nicer than docs and pills, and it's delicious and warm~!

holding the good thought~!

After being poked and prodded yesterday I was quite sore and at the same time overwhelmed with the reality of it. Went to bed really early last night as I had had enough of my world. Last time I had any form of surgery was in 1985.

Thanks for letting me know about licorice tea. I do like it. Much better than other alternatives. I am enjoying sitting in the sun out of the wind.
