I just made the yummiest dinner/snack - lately ive been having PB2 (lowfat peanut butter) and a thinly sliced apple. This time i added some super bitter (really you cannot eat them plain) chocolate chips to the pb2.
Ive been kinda intermittent fasting - i start with coffee, have a later, bigger lunch, then just snacky lighter things after, like fruit or protein cheezy poofs. I think i lost another lb, which is like 1/1000 of what i need to lose, really a drop in the stupid bucket, but at least its trending downward. |

Another thing im doing is, i kinda alternate heavier / light days of eating. I dont stop myself from eating during the day if im hungry, but i will stop eating later at night, which might make me hungrier the next day, so it kinda works out, as i get to indulge a bit. But i also enjoy the feeling of eating lightly, which is something i thought id NEVER say!!!

i have a new doc, and for the first time in years i really like and respect her. she lets me make decisions about my health, and is not a 'control freak',, i am very conscious of my body's needs, and have been using licorice to help control my blood sugars,, which is odd, since it's considered a candy, but i found an organic brand, Panda, which is very good for the gut and digestion.

Anybody home? Hiya. In a bid to increase my strength I have embarked on doing a stint of exercise each day. Last week I did it for 4 out of seven days. This week I am four for four so far. I had an operation last year. This year I have had surgery to remove a fractured and infected tooth in June. Today I went for a walk. It was not long at all My back hurt so much. 15 mins max.
Hmmmm. I used to be able to go heaps further than today. It was so easy to let my level of fitness drop without realizing. Hope the rest of you are doing okay with your journey with the great D. |

Yeah summer was not good.
I saw my dr last week. I have not been feeling well, i finally got my test results back. It looks like im dumping protein into my urine? But my h1ac was down from 7.8 to 7.1, so he was happy, and i had lost 5 lbs, tho not the ten he had wanted. So this past sunday i started exercising and watching my diet more. After i saw this thread, i measured my fasting blood glucose and it was down 20 points from last week, so thats good! I will never miss another day of exercise. Period. |

Hi Unaluna, It's good to know that you continue to chip away at it all. Accept all the pluses you can. Today I plan to do a bunch of exercises from my falls prevention booklet. They are simple but deadly. I hope both of us can check in tomorrow with a good report.

Today I did some exercises that I did in my Falls Class. They are simple but deadly especially cos I am not very fit. I figure breaking a sweat is a good thing. How is everybody else going?

Pleased to hear that the heating pads eased the aches and pains. Yesterday I went to the theatre and saw 'and then there were none'. I haven't done anything like that for decades. It was a very late night and then on top of that I was so wired that it took forever to get to sleep. Today I pretty much slept all day.
New week tomorrow, new start for all of us. |

Is any-one breathing out there? In case anybody is there yesterday I managed to weed the back yard for the allotted time frame. Today I did my 20 mins worth of falls exercises. Hope everyone is having a good day.

I exercised in the morning on monday, instead of the evening, and i felt pretty good. I did take a nap afterwards, but the rest of the day i felt pretty good. You dont have the task hanging over your head, and i think it may help regulate your blood sugar for the rest of the day. But i ended up hungry later at night, because i didnt eat well during the day, so i need to work that out better. Overall it did affect my sleep last night positively.

It is harder to get motivated later in the day. Good on you unaluna for getting it done when you did. You rock.
Today I swept the driveway and pruned part of the hedge runs along beside it. Getting these little things done makes me feel proud of myself. If I can get myself doing something it often ends up with other jobs being done. Days when I can do these little things are better that being frozen in bed. |

Tuesday i exercised during New Amsterdam, at 10 pm, and again slept like a log last night! Possum, these notes are really helping me, thanks. Its been a good ten days exercising for me, with just one day off, after my big day out walking. Then i got right back to my regular schedule. I kinda like my regular schedule, now that i am starting to feel better.

New Amsterdam? I like that show. Good thinking to use that as a distraction while exercising. Probably need to wait another 6 months before it pops ups here. It is encouraging to feel better and that sense can snowball into better things and more activities isn't it?
It was Thursday here today. As I have been recording my activities I realize that Thursday is a day I tend to crash. Nothing got done. Not last week or the week before. ??? Kinda feeling overwhelmed and frozen. Snowball come with positive vibes or negative ones. Tomorrow is going to be a positive snow ball day.... |

So its been two weeks that ive been consistently exercising. Actually looking forward to breaking a sweat on my little leggerciser! And starting to feel better on a daily basis. A little more energetic, less achy overall. Getting chores done - nothing dramatic, but one or two a day, like getting the mail put away, or putting the trash out.
Also trying to be careful of my food - mainly not to overeat, secondly to eat on time - before i get too hungry, so i am satisfied with MUCH less, which i am surprised to say HAS been working. It just REALLY goes against how my parents raised me, how the church taught me, what my thought patterns are - its like its WRONG to eat, to not wait until the last possible moment. Well, that is what has been messing me up all my life. It focuses your attention on food, instead of making it the tiny chore it should be, that you attend to, then get on with your LIFE. |

I dropped the ball for two days. It was looking like entering into a third one but did something physical and got my exercises done today. Yay. It's hard keeping the momentum going every single day. Pleased I dusted myself off again. I am finding the Trulicity is helping with my bsls and appetite. One dose, once a week.
To myself - unaluna and anybody else who reads this post |

Thursday i had kinda major dental work, but i walked a bit afterwards (just to the bus and stuff). Friday i was feeling feverish so i just did some house chores, that were still trying, but at least i had some activity. Today, saturday, i am back on track - on the bikerciser as i post this, starting to sweat up a storm. But not really losing any weight. Maybe a few ounces. Still, thr scale is moving in the right direction rather than wrong, as are my habits in general.

Major dental work? Eeek. Hope things are healing unaluna.
I did a little weeding yesterday. I was happy with that until my hernia played up. Feels like it is one step forward and two steps back. |
