I've never repotted a plant in my life, but I will get some fertilizer for it! Is blooming right now with new buds forming.

woo woo,, i made chunky ragu in the middle of the night last nite... it's got everything in it that needs to simmer for 2 hrs.... onions, garlic, celery, mushrooms, olives and lots of hamburger. i use the Prego in a jar for sauce (sometimes i put tomatoes in it, too), and add the salt and parmesan last. now if only i could eat more sauce and less sketti...
mmmm good stuff~! __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Wow i didnt realize this section exist. So relevant to me. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since 16 yrs old, 27 now. Could barely come to terms with it, esp the costly medical expenses and no subsidies. My blood glucose is always either too high or too low. Drs often warned me how fatal the lows could be. Yet i survived all of them without coma although i ended up eating uncontrollably.

Hope you had a good weekend Gus. Rained out on my walk today but got the strengthening in. Had an appointment today so I am a bit behind. Two of my cats are very curious about the mini rose Bush. It might not last long!!!

Welcome Namelessness. Glad you found us here. Hope you feel free to chat about things that you need to.
Thanks for the picture Gus. I can hear that song in my head with Dean Martin. My dad loved to watch his late night show. https://youtu.be/rXJL7tlECg0 Deejay - Maybe the kitteh's will leave the rose bush alone when they discover that roses have thorn's. I got my bac1 levels from the last four months report. My doctor was happy with the average of 5.6. Yay. So I don't need to have another one done until August. Flu shot done and dusted for another year. |

Definitely not a good day. Had about 3 broken hours of sleep last night. No exercises today. Just way too tired. Thankfully it was the day for the housekeeper was here!

I didn't go for a walk yesterday because of rain. So today I got out there but it was already 75 degrees at 10 am. I hate to sweat. It's not humid but with my foot braces on and a hernia belt on I sweat plenty and I must have shrunk a little because I can't reach the ceiling fan in the bedroom anymore. It is going to be a challenge to stay motivated in the heat. I do not like that we have gone from Spring to Summer in a week.

no, Guiness, and i do not look forward to learning about insulin....
i'm maxed out on the pills and struggling to stay within limits... i want off of metformin, but i don't know if Glypizide alone will do the trick~ this weekend i made spaghetti sauce, which is very healthy, but my body does not seem to like the noodles~ i've had two readings of 239 in the past 3 days~! i can't seem to understand how high cal spaghetti noodles are ~ __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Gus,
There is lower carb pastas at the market as well as the wheat pasta that I personally can't get in my mouth. I just don't like me the look of it. Oo...one more reason to keep excersizing... Hope I can take that to heart in the morning when it gets humid air gets here. My husband out the ceiling fan on. __________________ True happiness comes not when we get rid of all our problems, but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of awakening, opportunities to practice patience and learn.~Richard Carlson |

They are doing a better job on the whole wheat pastas. When they first came out with them, they really tasted like honey wheat bread in spaghetti form! Now, not so much!
I will eat the shirataki noodles sometimes. You have to boil them, then kinda pan fry them to dry them out, THEN cook them in your spaghetti sauce. They are better with a lot of meatballs! But they lose their appeal quickly. Ive also had the lentil-3 veggie noodles? Tbey are expensive as heck, but interesting in like tuna salad type dishes as they taste very green. Im italian, so i would love to eat pasta every day! My cousin makes sweet potato gnocchi - to me, thats eating sweet potatoes, not pasta! |

I tried cooking a spaghetti squash which took a long time to cook but really good. Surprisingly I could be okay substituting for pasta but not every time.

I’ve tried the noodle substitutes...I just gave up and don’t have those dishes.
I’ve really wanted to go back to Jason Fung method of fasting to reverse diabetes (he’s a kidney doc). I’m having so many issues with a drive to eat though on these darn meds. It was easier before I started. I’m hoping the glucophage will help. I’ve just started taking it again. |

But im afraid i have gotten too spoiled by my frequent use of microwave meals. I recently purchased some HRM samplers from amazon. HRM is a diet program offered thru some hospitals, kinda like nutrisystem. At first i thought, these meals are not very high protein. But they seem to be more tasty and satisfying than equivalent Lean Cuisines or Weight Watchers meals. Their Mushroom Risotto is soooo good. Also, they are packaged, not frozen. |

i try to stay away from 'prepared' foods,, they tend to be high in odd chemicals, preservatives, texturizers, etc.... my home made soups and casseroles are all chem free, fried taters, baked (roasted) beef in gravy, fresh veggies and salads.... i do admit to indulging in the odd breaded shrimp or spring roll (or both), but rarely.... being poor has it's advantages..... i like to cook enough for several days or more, freeze some, and have 2 kinds of meals in the fridge.
honestly, i've never eaten this well in my life~! i didn't know food could be such a big part of my life, and soooo pleasurable,,, it's a wonder i'm not gaining instead of loosing weight~! yep, down 6 lbs and holding steady since i started eating salads again, or maybe it was the vitamin D3, dunno, but i like it~! __________________ AWAKEN~! |
