Don't k ow how I've done it but I managed to get chores and exercises in over the last two days...no routine to it..just being in the room where he isn't in order to get things done.
Oh God I can't wait til Monday afternoon. I have decided I am going to drop him off and then go back before they call so I can talk with the nurse about results..I am nervous because of his Dad's history with esophageal a nd stomach cancer. My husband is really private about his doctor visits even with me. I have always respected that " but times, they are a changin" Thank God he signed that medical representative paper last month.

If the results are not positive he is really going to be happy I am so experienced in advocacy. I look very laid back and easy going until I think someone isn't getting the care they deserve.

Enjoy the weekend!

Possum my big motivation for exercise is so I can keep walking and to feel less pain. I have found I need the weekend off to recover from five days of exercise, but if I don't keep up with it during the week I feel the negative effects i.e. significantly increased pain. So less pain is the biggest motivator, along with the blood sugar stuff, and continuing to be able to care for myself independently.

Hope everything went well with your hubby in the first phase of the preparation. I am pleased that you get the weekend off exercise. Can't seem to get out of my own way today. I have a blood test that was written out by my p'doc for a vit D check. Will go and get that done this morning.

News is not good. Husband needs surgery which the doc says will take the summer to recover from. They found a weird shaped flat polyp which was too big to be removed during the colonoscopy. Could be cancer. We don't know but he emphasized getting it taken care of sooner than later. They will have to cut the actual intestine, take a biopsy and then suture it back up. The doc thinks they can do it laparoscopically, with a 7 day hospital stay. We may be in for a long summer here and then some.

Fingers, crossed this is,a one and done.

I have become insulin resistant. My endo is trying me on u-500 insulin it seems to be working pretty good. It's weird taking a thousand units of insulin a day.

So sorry to hear that Deejay. Are you able to get booked in soon? Hope that your family connections will make it happen sooner. Lots of weird things grow in our gut. Wonder why the doctor didn't take a biopsy while they were in there?

Just by the by..... Vit D is low so was advised to take 2000iu per day. The doc recommended a particular brand but does that really matter what brand if the amount is the same?

some brands are more absorbable than others, cheaper or better packaged,, but what you want to watch for is the number,, D1, D2, or D3... i take D3 and it's really helping~

A biopsy will be taken when they remove it. Consult with the surgeon next Tuesday at 7:45 am. I am doing my best not to worry because hopefully it will be uneventful except for the recovery.

Deejay - I am pleased to hear that the appointment with the surgeon is already booked. You dont know what you dont know until you know it so it is good to try not to worry though that is often easier said than done.

As for the vitamin D Gus I am going to talk with the pharmacist today and see if they can make some sense about which will be the best to take. Can you remember how long it took you to feel better for taking the Vit D? I am beginning to cringe at the combined cost of my medications.

possum, my doc offered to prescribe a vitamin D, but i already had some at home... it is incredibly inexpensive, as vitamins go. i could see the difference in 3 days, but i am hypervigilent that way. some people say as long as 6 weeks,, i get almost no direct sunlight, so i was showing low on my recent blood panel, that is why i'm taking it every day.

Hi Gus as Possum,
Just had to cancel our three day vacation because we had to use it to cover spouses illness and health insurance. I am disappointed...because it is a very special place to us both, but I was telling my sister I was a little reluctant to go in case my spouse had more problems. It is a small town with a small hospital which would not boost my confidence level with his care so maybe this is all for the best. Hopefully we will get to go in September for a couple of nights.

On the good side life got back to normal schedule today. I just barely got my exercise in when spouse got home from work. I talked to both my sisters in FL today so that took up a good chunk of time. Luckily the housekeeper was here yesterday so the house doesn't need much attention. Spouse's blood sugar are going back up because he hasn't been walking. It's hard to motivate him but once he gets on a schedule he will be faithful to it.

I really have made my mind up not to worry for the next t 6 days about spouses health because I might find out in the end it's nothing to worry about and I will have spent that time in negative energy. Just have to get him through the surgery and then see what the biopsy says. While I am waiting for the biopsy I will try to do the same.

Thank you possum and Gus! I have appreciated your support.

Getting a major Vitamin D hit from the gif.

Thanks for the feedback Gus. I did go to the pharmacy yesterday and found out that the brand all doctors tell patients to use is the same one despite the fact that Vitamin D brands are the same across the board. So I opted for a cheaper one that had more 50 more pills in it. I will just wait and see how long it takes. 3 days would be lovely.

Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans. Might not be a bad thing to keep things normal for the moment Deejay.

It is good that he went to work today. Not walking may be affecting his bsl levels but stress can make them rocket too.

Hope you can keep busy and that the time until Tuesday has some precious moment in them.
