I read a thing on the google news that said, limiting your food intake to 8 hours a day, like 11 am to 7 pm, will lower your a1c, so i am trying that.
Altho today i kinda goofed it up, i woke up too early and stayed up too late. But i ate only about 200 calories in the evening "after hours", a diet protein pudding and a cup-a-soup. I think my weight is about ready to fluctuate down into the next decade. For someone who cant work a yo-yo at all, my weight sure does! |

I am starting the diet again tomorrow and I will make the effort to get my blood sugars right down.I heard eating less and eating less often during the day helps bring sugars down.So I am going to eat 1200 calories a day, three very small meals and no snacking.I will report back in a week.Plus I will be doing exercise every day.

Where did everybody go? Hope you are all doing okay.
Just checking in about the Trulicity. My weight has stayed the same despite my efforts to the contrary. So this is a good thing. It would be even better if I was eating the well and exercising. Maybe that is the next stage. |

Hello, again, friends and fellow diabetics. i will try to drop in again more often, but probably not daily. my diabetes is doing fine, my diet is good, and i have had a lot of help getting up and moving again (temporary). i have slimmed down 6 inches and not lost a pound. i keep saying the weight is now muscle (which weighs more than fat), but i am dismayed at how weak i let myself become. added new meds for blood pressure crisis, lost my balance, wearing a 'wi-fi lifeline button' now. but happier than i have been in a long time.
Wishing you Well~! Gus __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Type II here. Diagnosed back in 2010. My A1C has been pretty good with diet, exercise, and Synjardy. Straight Metformin wrecks my gut.

My numbers have been ranging from 80 to 170 depending on the time of day. Is the top number still okay for not being on meds and just monitoring?

I added Trulicity to Galvumet to control my bsls. It isn't working. It has helped with my appetite but the numbers are still high.

Thanks. I can go sign a release and have then send the numbers to my PCP. I see him next month for cholesterol. It was high from the labs they drew in the hospital too.

My fasting glucose reading this morning was 157, which, while not great, was the lowest it's been all year, PLUS I've been on a reduced dose of metformin because i have to go pick up my refill. Plus, i just havent really been very hungry? I think im eating around a thousand calories or so.
One thing im eating for meals / snacks is Twin Peaks Protein Puffs. I got them from amazon. (kinda pricey, and they say to use the jug up in a month after opening.) They are slightly smaller than regular cheese balls, but low carb, low fat, high protein, but they are dairy. One serving is one cup is 130 calories, but 1/3 cup or so is usually enough, unless im really hungry. And yummy flavors! The margerita pizza has this great basil overtone - i usually stop when its not prominent anymore. And so crunchy! Ive become a crunch monster, which i never was before. I dont know what exactly is going on, but its been three days that my eating has decreased, altho ive been crunching on these things for about a month, off and on. Ive just become more conscious about it lately. Also increasing water / herb tea. P. S. Hi Gus!! Missed you sooooo much!!! |

saw my doc today, it's still a month too early for an A1c, but i have dropped 5 lbs and 7 inches~! and my blood pressure readings were great~ i know what you mean about 1000 calories a day, i've been holding the line, and reducing my meds, too... that's what it's all about, right, getting completely off those meds ?? (may we live to see the day). __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Gus, you sweetie, you remembered i love blue roses!
Im eating like a piglet today - 1300 cal, i think. Its amazing how it feels like a lot. I really do eat mindlessly. So ive been waiting to start a meal, and very wary of seconds and or sides. |

@marilyn have you started drinking the tea and are you enjoying it.
My bsls start in the double figures in the mornings. Not happy with myself. I am craving Fanta something I haven't touched for decades. |
