Im currently seeing a nuerologist doctor for absence seizures. He referred me to a specialist, an eptitologist who specializes is epileptic siezures. My appiontment is a ways a way and this is scary because the absence siezures already affect my memory and for the appointment to be so far way is unprofessional to me. Does anyone have any input.

I have these so can sympathise with you.
I don't know when your appointment is, but perhaps you can write key things down to help you |

The good specialists are always hard to get in to and means you are likely to wait long periods. Hopefully the time will go quickly for you.

Yes im fine. Had an appointment for an EEG and we are scheduling a prolonged EEG which takes 3-5 days. Apparently the EEG only detects siezures while your having them so being monitored for sometime is neccessary. Hopefully my absence siezures will be detected and the doctors can provide a treatment plan.

it is nice to see that with my current level of poor health, the one thing that is good that I've not had many of these the past few days
I was aware of 2 on friday, though- but friday was a bad day for me anyway.. I mean really bad. I'm not surprised I had them |

I'm familiar with the term, but never exactly understood - what does an absence seizure feel like?

like time has just frozen. like someone's just come in to the room and shut off the electricity for a few seconds/ minits, depending on how long it lasts. you don't really feel much. you're their in body, but that's it |
