I can see that nobody wants to talk about their disabilities or diseases in this forum by the number of posts here. 0 . Well , I want to talk about disability. My disability is a common one , I guess. I suffered multiple back injuries due to the nature of my work. I’m not wheelchair bound yet , but getting there. I can’t stand up straight.
Had failed back surgery. Besides the constant pain I’m also suffering from severe depression and anxiety. There were many times I wanted to cease to exist.
I’ve been very lucky , if you want to call it that. The main reasons I’m still living is because of gratitude and mindfulness. How people respond to these things vary as much as there are different people ! But for me , I’m grateful , not for the fact it could be worse , but for whatever little I have.

@moodyblue83 welcome to MSF My Support Forums. I am sorry you are suffering physical disabilities. that sounds like a lot to handle/

I also found mindfulness helps me cope with the stress in life. I found an app that is free and without ads or purchases. It is the best app I ever found. It is called Healthy Mind, made at the University of Wisconsin by professional neuroscience researchers.

It provides me something to look forward to each day and helps me start the day on the right foot. I really am thankful I found it.

All the best to you. @CANDC

Your just like your name , Stronglady , your " still living a good life " ! Despite your " disability ". I envy your mental fortitude, if you can call it that. Whatever it is you have , I don't. I'm just so drained. Your post is an inspiration though and I thank you for it.

I have severe hearing loss and mild intellectual disability that I feel is ruining my life.
