Well, as I was staying home sick from school, I happened upon an eisode of Ni-Hao Kai-lan (Basically it's a Chinese version of Dora the Explorer) Well, 1/2 out of curiosity and 1/2 out of boredom, I watched the episode...

The episode was when Kai-lan and her animal friends were sad because they wanted to play with their toys outside (like a kite, rollerskates, bike, and stuff you can't play in the rain) but rather then stay sad with her animal friends kai-lan found out a new way to have fun: jumping in the puddles! Noticing how much fun she is having they ask her if she's said she can't play with her toy outside and she said she is sad that she can't play with her toy, but jumping in the rain puddles made her really happy. The rest of the episode she and her animal friends were coming up with fun things they can do in the rain. Even the sun came out at the end of the episode to show what it could do when it rains: make a beautiful rainbow.

The lesson of the episode was:
Don't think about what you can't do, think about what you can do.

I thought for a show aimed at toddlers it was pretty insightful and applies to everyone, from the little kid who is sad they can't fly a kite in the rain to a person who is sad that they can't do as much as they used to. Of course having a disability or disease is a lot harder and more complicated, but the solution to be happier is the same. So I thought I'd share it
Thanks for this!

I saw that episode! I have a young daughter who loves it . Ni-hao Kai-lan is a good show. Teaching basic manners, importance of trying (rather than giving up), and supporting those you care about. Those are all important keys to developing a healthy lifestyle.
