How do YOU deal with anxiety? I am having a tough time with anxiety right now. I had to take an ativan and I hate taking them. I know, breath deep, do something to take your mind off of it, or get out of the situation. What else?

well, what we do dont always work...but we try ta draw, paint, color, do anything that might help bring ta the surface the reason WHY we r havin anxiety...or we might listen ta music...watch a stupid sitcom...do the dishes...vaccuum...nething ta lessen the anxiety...iffn that dont work...then we take our xanax...but on all accounts we gotta tell ya that what works for one dont work for another...an what may help us may not help u...the mostest favorite thing is ta go horseback ridin cuz that gets us outa the situation...into the woods...an out where we dont have no worries but what we r sittin on top of...an for us bein on a horse helps us tremendously ta figure out whats goin on...an then brushin the horse off at the end helps us develop a plan ta tackle the problem an do somethin bout it...hope this helps...

![]() ![]() I stay physical when I'm anxious. Go for power walks, lift weights, aerobic exercise, major cleaning projects, etc. I also write in a journal to let some of the stressful thoughts & emotions out. That can help me a little. But the biggie, for me, is to stay very physical. gentle hugs to you! Shez |

I guess I'm... not very successful either but what can help is focus on breathing, or sometimes distractions. Keep busy somehow.
