So, I acted strangely last night with my boyfriend and didn't remember it until he told me about it the next morning. Is this dissociating? I know that my personality/affect was different than my regular affect for most of the time. Can an alter forget what was said/done but remember when it is pointed out?

MY answwer is yes, as I experience that type or remembering quite often. Actually, it's as you said, not remembering until reminded, then feel kind of silly and very sad. It's frustrating. You okay?

Agree with Miri, we go through this a lot. Our spouse doesn't believe we dissociate and when we forget he acts like we are being stupid or bad. it is not something we do on purpose.
Another way it works is the host goes to counseling and someone else comes out to work with T and host is right there to hear and feel it all and then it goes away - sometimes by the time we drive home, sometimes we hold onto it longer. Memory irregularities are one part of what we go through due to DID. It sure causes problems. Leslie and Pixies
