We don't know if this is the right place for this question or if it's even allowed, but is there a way to connect with other DID'ers in ones area?
If we shouldn't have asked, we're sorry. ![]() |

(((((((((((calista))))))))))))) Maybe you could ask T or call a local mental health hospital? They might be able to help you find people in your area to get together with in a group setting or something?

Calista,
Maybe contacting a rape crisis place or a domestic violence place but asking if there is a group that may meet for sexual violence. Or asking your T like wanttoheal suggested. Good Luck... ![]()

hmm, here's what i thought of - go to google.com and type in, for example, "DID support groups new york" - but replace new york with the city you live in. or "dissociative identity disorder support groups new york" or "dissociative support groups new york" or maybe try a support group for survivors of abuse? sometimes, i think, people in there are DID but don't know it yet.
through this forum, if you're brave, you could put up a post seeking for people in your area. but you need to be careful with this one because you never know what kind of people lurk in here. ![]() good luck in your search, twilight

I really like the search idea...for support groups..you can go and check them out and it isn't so "personal". I mean you would never have to see any of those people again or see them type if you don't want to. For me making contact over the internet with a particular person just feels too scary.
This is only my humble opinion.

Yeah I know "scary".... I had a very bad experience cause we got too brave once. We won't talk about the particulars cause it's wayyy too triggering for us & everyone here.
Now we're more conscious of boundaries, ours & others. And we're aware of how scary this whole subject can be to everyone. We've developed a good radar by necessity and can feel if something is off. We know of one possible group at a nearby hospital, but in person , at first, is too much. We were thinking about possible telephone contact after all got comfortable enough. We have free long distance phone, so we would be willing to be the "caller" rather than the "callee " ![]() Thanks for all the suggestions. I feel grateful to have all of you. ![]() |
