TEAR SOUP-A RECIPE FOR HEALING AFTER LOSS
BY PAT SCHWIEBERT AND CHUCK DEKLYEN
ILLUSTATED BY TAYLOR BILLS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grandy’s Recipe for Tear Soup
Helpful ingredients to consider
*a pot full of tears
*one heart willing to be broken open
*a dash of bitters
*a bunch of good friends
*many handfuls of comfort food
*a lot of patience
*buckets of water to replace the tears
*plenty of exercise
*a variety of helpful reading material
*enough self care
*season with memories
*optional: one good therapist and /or support group
Directions:
Choose the size pot that fits your loss. It’s okay to increase pot size if you miscalculated. Combine ingredients needed. Strong flavors will mellow over time. Stir often. Cook no longer then you need to.
Suggestion:
*be creative.
*trust your instincts.
*cry when you want to, laugh when you can.
*freeze some soup to use as starter for next time.
*keep your own soup making journal so you wont forget.
*serves: one.
We just read this book and it reminds us of Pc world. We have come here these past couple of months to find that which we lost so that we could be whole again. We have pealed a lot of onions and cried a lot of tears. We finely found those here that understand the loss on innocence from an early age. Even though we are very far apart each person here as added their own special ingredients to my pot of tear soup. At time we may have been to blunt about our pain but after being told so many times that we are not allowed to grieve for that which our inner parts remember those here finely let us remember and let go of thing that should have been dealt with long ago. But could not due to the ignorance of those around us and the safety of our son. We not be perfect and we know we may have hurt those here but we thank you all for finely allowing us to make our soup so that we could cry and heal from our own pain. Now that we know why we can not leave this town yet we now know how we can help them to heal and grow strong again. With memoirs of those that loved us in the past and those here that truly understand the concept of the multiple mind. We thank you and hope that we may have helped those here to as we continue to make our own tear soup for those parts that come to the surface to heal. form all within
